The idea for the ZieJeZo app originated from a design challenge in which all BSOs (After-School Care Centers) of Humankind participated. In addition to the inspiration and motivation to encourage children to be more active, it became evident that children often find it challenging to make new (play) arrangements and new friends on their own.
With a foundational idea stemming from the design challenge, we, together with the children and the Humankind team, co-developed the Ziejezo! app. Children can use the Ziejezo! app to arrange playdates. These arrangements take place in what are known as 'circles,' and all children from the neighborhood can participate in them.
Children can choose from activities and challenges that encourage them to be more active, both individually and together. The extras assist in making fair choices, forming teams, or using a count down while playing.. Ziejezo! Making outdoor play easier and more enjoyable.
